Whether exploring the colonial architecture of South America on my motorcycle, or attending formal studies under Louis Kahn’s contemporaries in India, I have always been inspired by the beauty of built form. A product of my business degree from McGill University, a Masters of Architecture from the University of Calgary, extensive global travels and more than a decade as lead designer and Project Architect for internationally recognized firms, my trajectory in the field of architecture has been unique. This autonomous quality permeates S.O.A’s design sensibility and project delivery - favouring distinctive solutions that are appropriate to each Client, Project and Budget, rather than adopting predetermined plans and styles.
Joining Marc Boutin (MBAC) in 2003, I was lead designer and Project Architect for several critically applauded projects; including TAG Advertising (Prairie Design Award of Excellence, 2005). While living in Barcelona (2009) I worked with Ariolla & Fiol Arquitectes and MAB Arquitectura, two of Spain’s highly celebrated offices, producing projects worthy of the world’s attention. Moving to Canada’s west coast in 2010, I collaborated with Franc d’Ambrosio as Project Architect for some of DAU’s most celebrated residential projects, including the FirTree house (BLVD magazine, July 2014).
I launched Stanley Office of Architects (S.O.A) in 2014 as my vehicle to deliver the highest quality architecture and design to residential, commercial and cultural clients in the Kootenay region.
